Sit-N-Go Pro: A Whole Different Poker Game

To give myself a little introduction I'll start off by saying that I know quite a bit about poker. My curiosity for the game started about 3 years ago - right around the time of the internet poker boom - after watching the movie Rounders. Around this time I bought my first poker book: Super System by Doyle Brunson. Well this book lead to another one and before I knew it I had a collection of around 20 poker books. I read them all at least once and a few I read multiple times.

I got good enough at beating online poker that I am now currently supporting myself through college by playing online poker as a part-time job. It's very rewarding and really gives you a very flexible schedule. If I want to take the day off and go out with friends I can. Or if I have too much homework to do I can put off playing until another day. It's really nice.

So what does this have to do with Johnny 'JR' Rothman's Sit-N-Go Pro eBook and Instructional Video? Well let me explain. Through reading many poker books I learned a lot about the game of poker and played mostly in large multi-table tournaments with 1,000+ people and cash game ring tables where you could buy back in if you lost your inititial buy-in. And what does a good strategy at these games have to do with strategy at Sit-N-Go single table tournaments? Absolutely nothing, which I'll get to in a sec.

Though I wasn't bad at Sit-N-Go's, I wasn't a real big winner in them either. Knowing that I could beat other poker games this took a toll on my ego and I became very frustrated. And I also had another problem: While there were many poker strategy books out there, none of them had to do with Sit-N-Go tournaments, which I just couldn't get a handle on.

You see in a Sit-N-Gos, your number one priority is to make it down to the final three-the 3 spots that make it into the money. This is different from regular poker strategy because you have to make some plays that aren't warranted by "normal" poker strategy. A sit and go is separated into 3 stages and a different strategy is needed for each stage; that is if you want to make the most money possible from these tournaments. Compared to the way I played in a normal poker game, the strategy for Sit-N-Gos outlined by Johnny Rothman basically made them a whole new poker game for me to learn.

All of this stategy is outlined very well for you in Johnny Rothman's Sit-N-Go eBook + Instructional Video Combination. I can't emphasize it enough: SIT-N-GO'S ARE A MUCH DIFFERENT GAME OF POKER. And besides Johnny's eBook and Instructional video, I can't say that I know of any other book or resource out there that is dedicated solely to Sit-N-Go strategy.

The instructional videos were very also very valuable. Being able to see a strategy you read in the book being used in action really helps to cement his strategies into your memory. It's an extra learning resource that you can't get from any poker book.

And so the Sit-N-Go Pro package really helped me improve my sit and go game. And it was much needed, as this was previously the only form of Texas Hold'em that I couldn't beat for a good winrate.

Also, if your new to online poker but would like to give it a shot, I'd recommend sit and go tournaments as a good place to start. Many of my friends started building their poker bankrolls through sit and go's and with games running for less than a $1 a tournament it's a very cheap way to learn the in-and-outs of the game.

To sum up the review I'll say that the greatest thing about any poker book or resource that you buy: they usually pay for themselves within just a few quick poker sessions. Ship it! Anyways, good luck at the tables and let me know if this review was of any help.
